Summary of the last few months

Really not much has been happening in the life of 'new dad'. I guess that's the nature of being a dad. Exciting things happen in our life, like Zoe's baby teeth, feeding herself, you know milestones that aren't very exciting to any one but us and maybe her grand parents... So, as I said nothing very exciting.

We also went to Zoe's first out door concert(or any concert for that matter), her first boat ride, and many other firsts including her first birthday!

Personal umbrella holder. You don't have one?

The Whitefin

We moved about five weeks ago. Moving still sucks, but this time I rented a Uhaul and did it in two trips. The only way to move. I will never do it in my little truck again. Good thing I had 3 friends lined up to help since two of them 'called in sick'. Moving the day after Halloween usually sees your helpers hungover. Jake showed and saved the day. Which is a good thing because Gramps' ukulele playing, though nice just doesn't a move a couch(he's been on a bit of a chilling spree the last couple of decades) Thanks again Jake.

Serial Chillin'

The winter is here in earnest and based on the summer we had in Sausalito I imagine it's snowing there now. So glad we're now in sunny Corte Madera.

SunnyCheers! Stay choice.

Mill Valley Beerworks

I went to Mill Valley Beerworks last night. Totally rad. They have two full pages of bottled beer to choose from, none I had ever heard of, and nine taps. They will be having their own brew soon apparently. Definitely worth checking out. Click here.

Shop stool

Take one tattered Park Tool shop stool, and one Campagnolo wheel bag, add in some of my home grown ingenuity, and you've got one cool shop stool. Behold...

A few gems

This is one of the gems I was referring to. Zoe is awesome. I may be biased, but she ought to be in pictures. Photo credit: Zoe's super mom.

This one is classic. You can't really tell here, but Zoe's vibe is about to go South. Gramps seems to really like having her around.

Zoe and her super mom met me and my friend peter out at the Pelican Inn for some snacks and pints post mountain bike ride. That was a great day.

This was a choice Monday. When the rest of the world was working Momo, Zoe and myself had a home made pizza and wine for lunch. Livin' the sweet life. Pizza was made by yours truly. If there is one thing I can do with the highest level of mediocrity, that's pizza. I have not been making too much pepperoni pizza these days(hard to believe.) Gotta lay off the cured meats, they're not good for you. I guess as you get older and realize you're not invincible, you have to mellow out a bit, stop partying so much, eat less pepperoni pizza....

I got the new iphone

As the title says I got the new iphone. I chose the 'white is the new white' white one. I upgraded from the the original 4 gig model. As I like to say "I went from OG to 3G". Boo-Yeah! I Really like the video camera feature. Here are a couple of vids.

Don't crash.

Zoe is the bomb.

Livin' the High Life!

Most recently I have been educated by my friend Leslie, the ways of the High Life. Based on the photo above you may have already come to realize that this has some thing to do with drinking the 'Champagne of Beers'. As well it seems that this blog focuses on beer. So naturally I would be writing about beer and the finer points of drinking it.

I had been informed of the value of Miller High Life in the past by Leslie, but had never actually seen the light until recently, when I was going to meet him at his house for an evening with he and Lulu. I was instructed to pick up some 'cold' beverages. I stopped at Cala/Bell/DeLano's to pick up some value based beer. As I scanned the beer section for the best taste/cost/quantity beer option I was drawn to the 32oz. bottles of Miller High Life. At the moment I saw the bottles on the shelf it was clear that there is not a better value out there(as I had been informed of months earlier by Leslie, only to realize it myself at that very moment).

When I arrived at the house Leslie began to educate me further. . . . One needs to do more than just purchase the beverage and drink it, it needs to be prepped properly. I don't mean opening it and letting it breathe or pouring it into some sort of crystal decanter. No, simply place the 32ozs of fluid gold into the freezer for about 10 minutes or until you get just a tiny bit of ice beginning to form in the bottle. Now you can enjoy directly from the bottle with paper bag coozie of course, or as we did on that night pour into pint glasses and place bottle back into freezer until the next pour.

The sweetness can hardly be described, one must enjoy this on their own. It's best to enjoy on a Friday evening after working in a "The Office" type of environment for an entire week.

Thanks Leslie. Enjoy.

Girls are as bad as boys

This is pretty funny. I remember being a young man and feeling like doing some thing like this when after buying a girl a couple of drinks she decides to slip in that she lives with her boyfriend...
